"We only know Good People Doing Great Things..." The Community Foundation idea is simple one: anyone can be a philanthropist - local people, giving locally to make an impact on the lives of others – not just for today, but forever.

Among her many duties, Thayer oversees the Community Foundation’s grant making programs, including the annual competitive application cycle. She works closely with donors and nonprofits to identify and assess needs within the community and then helps bring people together to create a positive impact where we live, work, and play.

The Community Foundation idea is simple one: anyone can be a philanthropist; anyone may use it to give something back to the community. The Community Foundation of Middlesex County represents local people, giving locally to make an impact on the lives of others – not just for today, but forever.

The Community Foundation of Middlesex County is unique. It did not begin with one or two large bequests, but as a grass roots effort with multiple donations from countless caring donors. That vision and dedication paid off as the Community Foundation’s pooled assets continue to grow each year thanks to the generosity of our friends and neighbors.

Since 1997, more than 190 funds have been established by generous individuals, companies, institutions, organizations, and businesses in order to invest in nonprofit organizations to improve the arts; cultural and heritage programs; educational activities; environmental conditions; health and human services, and so much more.
