Parenting is not easy...sometimes it is good to know you are not the only one having issues. Share some insights and wisdom with Catherine every Saturday morning.

Catherine Barden has been involved in advocacy, community mobilization, youth leadership, and substance abuse prevention at the local, state, and national level since 1997 when she joined the board of the Haddam-Killingworth Community Youth Coalition. She served on that coalition through graduation from Haddam-Killingworth High School in 2001.  She also became involved in the Connecticut Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking (CCSUD) in November 1999 and served as the Youth Chairman from September 2001 until November 2004.  After graduation from Central CT State University she began working at the Governor’s Prevention Partnership where she served as a technical assistance liaison to community coalitions across the state, coordinated compliance check operations, and served as the state coordinator for Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Catherine now serves as the Coalition Coordinator for MADE in Madison where she implements the five key steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework, manages grant activities, and provides services for the youth and adult volunteer members and leadership of the coalition.
