5. Salmon River – Rt 16 Colchester Beautiful covered bridge! Hiking and fishing
6. Nipmuck – 9,000 acres 166 Chestnut Hill Rd. Stafford Springs Hiking and fishing
7. Topsmeade – 615 acres. Buell Road Litchfield House and Grounds of Edith Morton Chase
8. Nassahegon – 1227 acres Rt 4 Burlington Includes trout hatchery. Hiking and great bird watching!
9. Mattatuck – 457 Rt 6 Thomaston Includes the towns of Waterbury, Plymouth, Thomaston, Watertown, Litchfield and Watertown Hiking and bird watching
10. James Goodwin – 2000 acres Potter Rd. Hampton Equestrian trails, hiking, fishing
11. Paugussett – 999 Great Quarter Rd. Sandy Hook Hiking, fishing, waterfalls
12. Nepaug- Rt 202 New Hartford Hiking, mountain biking
13. Naugatuck – 5,000 acres Includes the towns of Naugatuck, Beacon Falls, Oxford, Bethany, Hamden, Cheshire, Ansonia, and Seymour. It is organized into five Blocks, named West, East, Mt. Sanford, Quillinan Reservoir, and Great Hill. Hiking, fishing bird watching
14. Shenipsit – 166 Chestnut Hill Rd. Stafford Springs. Includes the towns of Somers, Ellington and Stafford. Hiking, fishing, bird watching
15. Mohegan – 489 Devotion Rd. Scotland. Includes Scotland and Sprague. Hiking
16. Roosevelt – 401 acres 700 Peters Lane Stratford Hiking, fishing
17. Salt Rock – 149 acres 173 Scotland Rd. Baltic One mile of wooded riverfront along the Shetucket River in the town of Sprague. Hiking, fishing
18. Great Pond/Massacoe – 370 acres – Great Pond Rd. Simsbury Consists of two separate blocks of woodland. The largest block, Great Pond, is home to the town’s biggest standing water body, while the 73 acre Massacoe block adjoins Stratton Brook State Park. Hiking, fishing
