Hurd State Park – East Hampton
Situated on the east bank of the Connecticut River, the park has grown to almost 1000 acres and is especially popular with small boat owners. Many of these boaters recognize the park by its landmark “split rock” towering above the trees. The park trails are non-motorized, multi-use and popular with mountain bikers. There are great views of the river. A moderate hike, a bit over one mile in length, through woodlands and up granitic outcrops to Split Rock is a must. From the lower parking lot, follow
the red to the yellow blazed trails.
A trail map is located in a kiosk at the parking area and also on the DEEP State Parks website.
