Tere Luna and Val Ramos Duo
Tere Luna is a professional singer of Mexican, Latin American, and Spanish rumba songs. She is also a professional Mexican folkloric dancer. She has performed at numerous festivals in Connecticut including the International Festival of Arts & Ideas “Pop Up” Festival (2015), the Hello West Hartford Multicultural Festival (2014-2016), and other multicultural celebrations and events. She has performed with Mexican “mariachi” bands, Mexican dance troupes, and Latin American and Flamenco musicians, including international Flamenco guitarist Val Ramos.
Tere is a teaching artist registered in the Hartford Performs roster, a recipient of the Latino de Oro 2016 award for arts and culture, and a recipient of a 2016 Arts Council of Greater New Haven’s Arts Build Community grant.
Val Ramos is considered to be one of the best Flamenco guitarists in the United States. With over 30 years of professional national and international touring and recording experience, Val also performs traditional “bolero” music and other music of Latin America. He is registered with the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism’s roster of performing artists and is also part of the New England States Touring Roster of the New England Foundation for the Arts. Val has released three CDs under the independent PIRAM Records label and has performed at numerous festivals including the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, the Summerwind Summer Concert Series, the Litchfield Jazz Festival, the Levitt Pavilion Summer Concert Series, Guitar Under the Stars Festival, and the Regattabar Jazz Festival, to name a few.
