Prison Arts Program Exhibit @ Russell Library | Middletown | Connecticut | United States

This is the seventh annual ‘alumni’ exhibition hosted by the Russell Library! CPA’s Prison Arts Program is proud to continue to work with inmates upon their release, and equally proud to note their continued artistic endeavors and accomplishments. This year’s show features the work of artists who have been out of prison for over a decade as well as artists who were released just this year. Materials and media vary widely and may include paint, pencil and welded steel…
The struggle is not over for an inmate upon his or her release, in fact, it is often just beginning. The transition from one physical place and mindset to another, usually vastly different, can be unpredictable and difficult to manage – for the inmate, their loved ones and for programs such as the Prison Arts Program.
This exhibition continues a collaboration between the Community Partners in Action Prison Arts Program and Russell Library.
